Abstract Note
Indigenous people, doctors, traditional and Western researchers came together in Ottawa, Canada to discuss policy and public health for indigenous communities. The symposium is one in a series of meetings including the Pan-American Health Organization. Views on research, health, and cures differed greatly between western researchers and indigenous representatives. Indigenous people rose concerns about lack of cultural sensitivity in health policy.
