Abstract Note

The UN Earth Summit in 1992 secured the agreement of over 150 governments to follow the Convention of Biological Diversity. With it coming into effect, a committee will meet to determine if indigenous communities will have rights to their bio-cultural resources under the convention. Beyond that, the convention provides many resources and protections to ecological regions.
